Fine. Firstly, when you talk of Graham Staines, Godhra etc why dont you talk of '84 Sikh riots, Bhidranwale or Kashmiri Pandits etc?

And when you talk of Godhra, why do you forget about the train carnage? Does it become any trivial because the majority was involved?

Tragedy is that most of my countrymen, including Hindus, see Pro- Hindutva as a sin- and treat it automatically as Anti- Minority

If Babri Masjid demolition is an anti-minority act, then being mute spectator (Congi Govt) also is - thats why Muslims in UP dont trust Congi any more

If re-conversion of tribals to Hinduism is an anti-minority act, then conversion of them to christianity by enticing them with food etc also is-

Coming to Graham staines murder, i dont have the link but there was an old rediff aticle which had a report which said that the murder was NOT carried out by Bajrang Dal- the motive was some disgruntled tribals

my view point is different. for me, Lord Rama is not just a personality, it is all the values for which he stands for.

And it does really matter as to who plays the role.

Tell me one thing- will you say the samething say if tomorrow a Dawood Ibrahim or a DP Yadav tries to don the role of a Mahatma Gandhi?

Tolerance is fine- but it should not be used as an excuse to trivialize icons like Lord Rama etc.

And if you have problems with Smitha thackeray, then how about Ramoji Rao or B.R. Chopra?

If you believe in your first two pints, you are contradicting yourself on your last point.

If there is nothing wrong in what you said, whats wrong in a Smitha Thackeray or you or me decide to make a film on Prophet Mohammed? How does asking Smitha Thackeray to make such a movie be a sign of religious intolerance?

Why should learning your national language be AN ISSUE?

Your problem is that you consider Hindi as a North Indian language and not a National Language. The domineering attitude of Northies hasnt helped much in this regard.

what you posted applies to national anthem also - and did that stop you from reciting it with pride? - did u ever consider it as just a Bong poem

and to counter what you said - unless the politicians of the "anna" and "amma" ilk put their egos aside and think from the whole nation's point of view, PLU s will suffer from such delusions

even at the height of anti-hindi agitation there were some saner people who started insitutions like Hindi Prachar Sabha etc in recognition of the need to learn the national language- i am sure you are aware of that.

i had some sympathies for you about the airport incident where the lady at the counter asked you if you knew national anthem

but with the kind of views you hold, i now feel that you probably deserved it.
