Old Acquaintances
How many times have you bumped into old acquaintances in life and how did you feel about it? I have bumped into a lot of them- across the globe
Its been 10 years since i passed my BE and 8 years since I did my MBA
All these years- old friends spring up fom no where
Like one chilly december evening in Delhi, I was just hoping i will get some company for a drink- and suddenly 4 of my MBA batch mates appear from nowhere - they were in Delhi to attend another batch mate's marriage - and we had a great time together
or that particular day in Sunnyvale- when I was playing cricket- and the batsman facing me had a distinct stance- and my doubts were true- he was a BE senior
or the day in hyderabad when I was walking towards secbad railway station and saw a car- i showed my thumb in askance for a lift- the window opens- and lo and behold- it was the same guy who bashed me up once in college
or the day in tumkur - when i went to a bakery to have some pastries and coke- the shopkeeper simply refused to accept money from me- and he later revealed that he recognized me as one of his buddies in school
or the day in mumbai where i went for a job where i was interviewed by a college senior whom i always regarded as a "chutiya"
- one thing common to all these meetings is that for the brief period when we got reacquainted- we always remembered good old times - well all these cases were not those of thick friends- but those whom u knew by face and where ur acquaintance was limitied to a "hi" / "bye" types
these interactions really made me long for the bygone times
but as we parted with a handshake- its back to the square one- life goes on as usual
